Wynn Las Vegas Launches New Security Screening Program

  • 06-OCT-2020

LAS VEGAS (October 5, 2020) – Wynn Las Vegas announced a series of security measures designed to enhance its best-in-class guest safety program. Following a successful pilot program launched a few weeks ago, the stepped-up security measures will be in place Friday through Sunday evening.

"Wynn Las Vegas is known for offering the best guest experiences," said Marilyn Spiegel, President of Wynn Las Vegas. "These changes to our security program are devised to ensure our guests can continue to enjoy those experiences in a relaxed and safe atmosphere."

Guests entering Wynn and Encore will be scanned for metal and their hand-carried bags will be screened. The additional screening at the resort entrances complements existing security measures that are in place, including scanning hotel room keys at elevator entrances to ensure only current registered guests are admitted to the hotel towers. The resort has also increased its number of uniformed Metro Police Officers and Wynn security officers.

The Wynn Las Vegas security program consists of multiple entities that form a layered security system responsible for the deterrence, detection and response to any security-related incident at the resort. Wynn security team members are former federal and local law enforcement officers, former FBI agents, former counter-terrorism operators and embassy security guards, and former members from all branches of the U.S. military including Special Operations. The security program includes crisis and tactical response, a K-9 team, mobile and stationary officers, surveillance, and other departments which the company does not disclose.
