Wynn Las Vegas Turns Volunteer Hours Into Cash Grants With New Community Service Initiative

LAS VEGAS (June 13, 2019) – Wynn Las Vegas introduces Dollars-For-Doers, a new community service initiative that will turn up to 10,000 volunteer hours from off-duty employees into $100,000 in cash grants for local nonprofits. For every employee who volunteers 25 hours of personal time at the same eligible nonprofit, Wynn will give a cash grant of $250 to the organization. Eligible organizations can receive up to $10,000 each per calendar year.

"Volunteerism is a core part of our company's culture," said Marilyn Spiegel, president of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore. "Our employees give generously of their time and through their contributions to the Wynn Employee Foundation. The Dollars for Doers program is one more way for us as a company, and as a team, to support our community."

To launch Dollars-For-Doers, cast members from Wynn's signature production show, Le Rêve – The Dream, volunteered at The Animal Foundation, participating in onsite training and animal enrichment opportunities, engaging with adoptable dogs and cats through stimulating exercises, obedience techniques and more. While availabilities last, the first 100 individuals to adopt an animal from The Animal Foundation will receive two tickets to attend Le Rêve – The Dream.

All local nonprofit organizations that are supported by the Wynn Employee Foundation will be eligible for the 2019 Dollars-For-Doers initiative.

Dollars-For-Doers is a permanent addition to the many volunteer and philanthropic programs available to Wynn employees in Las Vegas, who collectively donated more than 31,000 hours of time to personal and company-sponsored causes in 2018. Most recently, Wynn employees completed a large-scale renovation to The Shade Tree, a non-profit that houses women in crisis. With assistance from more than 170 community partners, $2.5 million in labor, materials and cash was donated for the upgrades.

Employees who choose to give money in addition to time can multiply their donations with the greatly enhanced Wynn Employee Foundation Corporate Matching Program, which provides a dollar-for-dollar match to eligible nonprofits up to $50,000 per employee, per year. In 2018, Wynn employees contributed more than $340,000, resulting in more than $680,000 being distributed to the nonprofit organizations closest to their hearts.
