Wynn Las Vegas Unveils Newly Redesigned Race & Sports Book and a New Sports Book at Encore

LAS VEGAS(July 31, 2017) Wynn Las Vegas’ Race & Sports Book returns on August 1 with a full renovation. The space offers guests a luxurious, yet comfortable space to enjoy live sporting and racing events, place wagers on current and future events or enjoy a casual bite at the adjacent Charlie’s Bar + Grill. Conceptualized by Executive Vice President of Wynn Design and Development Roger Thomas and his team, the space features state-of-the-art technology and is custom designed for functionality, comfort and spaciousness, while maintaining its relaxed atmosphere.

The technologically advanced Race & Sports Book boasts an expansive high definition LED video wall, spanning 137 feet in width and 11 feet in height, with a total of 21 million pixels. Offering guests a viewing angle of 160 degrees horizontally and vertically, the sweeping curve layout also allows for maximized views of an additional 35 television monitors. A large bar on the casino level seats 22 guests and seamlessly separates the sports books from Charlie’s Bar + Grill. Betting desks are distinguished by 28 historic jockey silks in high chromatic contrast. The streamlined and open individual guest desks feature USB ports and power outlets, as well as task lighting with plush executive swivel and tilt seating. Guests can view race and sports events from one of 41 regular carrels and eight VIP carrels. Additional design features include 49 general seats and 40 VIP seats, which offer private elevated areas with custom sofas and tables.

“The impressive technological advancements and updated design of the new Wynn Race & Sports Book will take the guest experience to a completely new level, positioning Wynn Las Vegas as the ultimate sports book destination,” said Johnny Avello, executive director of race and sports book operations. “We are also excited to debut a second fully operational Race & Sports Book dedicated to Encore, with all the amenities and services offered at Wynn.”

Charlie’s Bar + Grill, named after Steve Wynn’s longtime friend Charlie Meyerson, also makes its debut on August 4 adjacent to Wynn Race & Sports Book, replacing Zoozacrackers. Offerings include tailgate favorites and classic American grill fare, from gourmet table shares and signature burgers to hearty salads and delectable entrees, paired with specialty cocktails and an extensive craft beer program with 100 beer selections. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, restaurant operating hours are Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Following the reopening of Wynn’s Race & Sports Book and the new restaurant, Encore will debut its own permanent Race & Sports Book on August 7. Located adjacent to Encore Players Lounge and Surrender Nightclub, the new space will feature three betting stations and 21 televisions ranging from 60 to 120 inch screens to maximize sport spectating for fans. The new Encore Race & Sports Book will offer both regular and VIP seats, with many featuring USB ports and multimedia capabilities.
